Internship Program for International Students in The Research Center for Environmental Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University (RCEM-KMU https://envmed.kmu.edu.tw/index.php/en-GB/) is a four to six months short-term postgraduate level of academic internship program and aims to cultivate students’ professional knowledge and skills in issues of environmental hazards and food safety related to public health. The graduate students (Master or PhD students) or already graduated research scholars are welcome to apply for this program. RCEM-KMU places a strong focus on issues of environmental hazards and food safety and examines food and environmental toxins, which integrate environmental exposure and clinical medicine, and basic clinical science.
The participants in this program will practice in RCEM and learn about analytical techniques for food and drug sample analysis by joining the related courses in our institute and involving in our research. The program will also provide training courses about operating instruments wildly applied in food inspection, such as HPLC, LC/MS/MS and GC-MS. In addition to gaining professional knowledge and skills, the international students could learn the Mandarin and improve their language proficiency. Cooperation with Taiwanese students and researchers will also help them adapt to life in Taiwan and facilitate cultural exchange.
