The Department of Civil Engineering in NIU is academically active and there are many workshops and conferences held regularly which exchange with scholars worldwide. In particular, we have innovative civil materials in green technology (Geopolymer, Non-cement Blended Composites, Cementitious Materials), green technology (Waste disposal in Civil Materials, Microstructural Properties in Cementitious Materials) and Durability (Permeability, Corrosion Technology, Measurement Technology in Chloride Diffusion) courses offered, which provide students with more chances to get into the field of green materials in civil engineering. There is an obvious trend of growing energy and materials related development in the world nowadays which has a huge impact on everyone’s daily life. The study of green materials in civil engineering can definitely help to promote the quality of human life and make the environment friendlier.
