The YZU Innovation Design Engineer Internship is based on design thinking methodology to solve real-world problems in Smart living, IoT, Gerontechnology, Big Data, Digital Fabrication, or Interaction Design. In 5 months, Internees will be guided by inter-disciplinary professors to experience product research, development, testing, or production. In addition to exciting design thinking, internees will also get a chance to learn Chinese Mandarin, along with Taiwan culture tour, business visits and local high school services. There is no Tuition, and living costs and dormitory are subsided. Welcome international students, college senior or above, who have passion in these fields and good in English to apply. Yuan Ze University was founded by the Far Eastern Group which is one of the biggest conglomerates in Taiwan and spans over 10 major industries. With strong linkage with industry, the internship program integrates 2 centers and 1 lab to solve real companies’ problems. The Gerontechnology Research Center (GRC) is a pioneering research center in the field in Taiwan. GRC has been designing technologies and products to provide practical solutions to the various problems of the aging society and has been granted 40+ patents for its innovative products. Smart Production & Innovation Management Research Center provides comprehensive and effective solutions for enterprises to implement "AI Landing" in production and "data-driven" in management. CKfablab focuses on digital fabrication, interaction design, inter-generational care, design thinking, maker education and freeform spatial design. The main core of CKfablab design is “Adaptive”. Through design practices, exploring the interaction between people, objects and the environment. YZU fosters global mobility, and 1/10 of the student body are international students.
