Student Teaching in Kaohsiung
Founded in 1966, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages is the most prestigious language university in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The College of English and International Studies is seeking student teachers to teach in elementary schools in Kaohsiung. We aim to recruit college students or student teachers from English-speaking countries, including the Philippines, USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, with a major related to education.

If your major is not education-related, we’ll offer English language teaching training courses. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply! Also, students from our partner universities in the Philippines are prioritized!

About the project
The internship program offers semester and summer-based: The semester-based internship starts in the spring, fall, and Summer. The students will learn Chinese in the morning and teach English in elementary schools in the afternoon (20 hours per week) in Kaohsiung, five days a week. A teacher training course will be offered for you to be familiar with the teaching environment. This opportunity would be a springboard for you if you are interested in working in elementary schools. With a teaching certificate awarded by Wenzao, you’ll be qualified to receive a job offer teaching in elementary schools in Kaohsiung in Fall. An interview is required.

This project offers: Free-of-charge English language teacher training courses; Free accommodation for intern teachers during their stay (On average US $170 per month); Free English-taught courses offered by Wenzao; 11-week Chinese language course (spring or fall semester) or a three-week Chinese summer program with Chinese courses and cultural tours (Curriculum fees and room and board are included ) (Value: US$1,000)
