If you are interested in the beauty of nature, even from the structure of the protein itself, our lab might be the right place for you. My name is Yang Wei, and anyone who would like to know more about the protein-based biomimetic material designs is welcome to check about the research work from our group. We are currently working on a couple of projects with funding supported by the ministry of science and technology (MOST) in Taiwan:
- Development of keratin hemostatic nanoparticles from human hair and fundamental investigations of the keratin structure related hemostatic efficacy.
- Fundamental understanding of mussel protein adsorption on a silicon surface - developments of mussel inspired conductive polymer binder for Si-alloy anode in lithium-ion battery.
- Structure related Hemostatic Property of Human Hair Derived Keratines at Different Temperature_A Fundamental Understanding of Crinis Carbonisatus Inspired Hemostatic Material Design.
- Adsorption Behaviors of Mussel Proteins on Biomaterials with Different Surface Chemistries- A Fundamental Understanding of Mussel Inspired Polymer Design.
Our group at Taipei Tech is always on the lookout for an outstanding intern student in the research areas listed above. Solid training in engineering, chemistry, biological sciences, physics, or a related field is required. Independence, creativity, passion for research, and good communication skills are essential. Although specific project positions are filled on an as-needed basis, exceptionally well-qualified candidates are encouraged to apply at any time.
